Beautiful valleys, astounding beaches, exciting rapids to enjoy, ample time to know each other. This is a relaxed multi-day river trip, which passes some of the most beautiful sceneries of Garhwal.
The expedition traverses wide valleys and some sections of gorges, from Rudraprayag (confluence of Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers) to Deoprayag (confluence of Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers). This is an expedition for all, suitable for children, and family groups apart from people who want an expedition which gives them a beautiful outdoor experience and ample time to enjoy that experience.
This is a completely self supported trip, wherein all our camping gear, food etc. is carried on cargo rafts. The completeness of experience is what makes this rafting trip more adventurous.
The expedition schedule requires 3 clear days on the river, and 1 day for transit.
Reporting at our Shivpuri Base ( approx. 14 kms from Rishikesh ). After an initial introduction with our river team, we all will depart for Srinagar. Expected drive time from Shivpuri to Rudraprayag is around 6 hrs. Overnight will be in Rudraprayag.
Early morning wakeup, and thereafter start the journey to Rudraprayag, where we will start our expedition. Rudraprayag is a small town settled at the confluence of Alaknanda and one of its tributaries called Mandakini. Our expedition starts just before this confluence. All the camping gear, rations and personal belongings of participants are placed in dry bags and are secured on the cargo raft. We shall start with a Grade III+ rapid called the "Holy Hole". After this we will experience several rapids of grade 2+ to 3 rating. The day's rafting will end around lunch time, and we will stop at an isolated beach. While the lunch is readied, camp setup activities will proceed, and all participants are expected to participate in these activities. Overnight in tents.
Wake up to the sounds of nature. After taking breakfast, the rafting journey will continue, and will pass through beautiful landscapes, small villages and unspoiled natural environment. Lot of small and moderate rapids will dot the day's trip. Camp will set on a beach which will arrive shortly after lunch. Overnight in tents.
This is the last day of our expedition, and the river will narrow down and will flow through a short distance in a gorge. Several exciting rapids to soak in, and enjoy. We finish the trip at Deoprayag which is a town at the confluence of Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers. The trip will finish at the end of the confluence.
